Ingredients :


  • 2 canned chickpeas

  • 3 tsp oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 3/4 tbsp ginger garlic paste

  • 1 chilli, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli

  • powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • salt

  • coriander, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp lemon


METHOD:


In a deep pot, heat 3 tsp oil and saute the onions,

Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste along with the chopped green chilli.

Add all the spices, let it cook for few minutes.

Add 1 1/2 can of chick peas and lightly mash the other half can.

Add water accordingly, let it cook until it reaches desired consistency.

Add coriander and lemon.


PATTIES:


  • 8 medium potatoes, (sliced or can be boiled )

  • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1 1/2 tsp red chili

  • 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 3/4 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • Salt

  • Handful of coriander and mint

  • leaves

  • 4 tbsp oil

  • 1 cup corn flour (seasoned with salt and red chili)

METHOD:


Heat oil in a wok and add the potatoes with the spices and let it cook covered until its soft to mash.

Let it cool, add coriander and mint, and form round patties. Lightly dust it with corn flour and cook until golden brown in very less oil.


You'll need sweetened yogurt, imli chutney, green chutney, chopped onions,coriander as topping.
